INTRODUCTION:

(Deuteronomy 4:2 [KJV])
Ye shall not add unto the word which I command you, neither shall ye diminish ought from it, that ye may keep the commandments of the LORD your God which I command you.

(Proverbs 30:5, 6 [KJV])
Every word of God is pure: he is a shield unto them that put their trust in him. Add thou not unto his words, lest he reprove thee, and thou be found a liar.

(Isaiah 28:10 [KJV])
For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little:

(Isaiah 28:13 [KJV])
But the word of the LORD was unto them precept upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little; that they might go, and fall backward, and be broken, and snared, and taken.

(2 Peter 1:20 [KJV])
Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation.

All of the studies, book or topical, found here, are done with research with mainly two things: The KING JAMES BIBLE and a plain old, 1828 Webster's Dictionary. Why? Outside of actually studying secular and Jewish history, archaeology, one needs nothing more. You do not need foreign, dead languages that no one speaks, lexicons, concordances or commentaries, because they differ not only with one another and with the KING JAMES BIBLE, but they create division, confusion, debate, and unbelief. We do not need them. That Word of God written and preserved for us in our own language is supposed to be enough, like the Old Testament was for the Jews, and the New Testament for the early Christians in Greek, Latin, Italian, Spanish, German, etc. There are studies within as tangents on words, subjects found within the two testaments, as to broaden the scope of the study, to learn more, deeper truths. This is not an intellectual site with PhDs, theologians, and no worldly wisdom.. Check everything out, everything. Not just here, but with everything you read and see and hear. Be Bereans:

(Acts 17:11 [KJV])
These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so.

Always research for yourself, use all of the context, and never privately interpret!

1 Thessalonians Chapter 5: KNOWING ALL OF THIS, WHAT TO DO

This chapter is about the Pre-Tribulation Rapture of the Church, which is like a thief in the night, compared to "every eye shall see Him". The two events, separated by a minimum of seven years, are very distinctly different in Scripture, completely contrasted with one being evident to all, one in secret. The reason? God has not appointed us unto wrath (1 Thessalonians 5:9), which will be upon all the earth during the Great Tribulation.

(Matthew 24:36-44 [AKJV/PCE])
¶ But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only. But as the days of Noe were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark, And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. Then shall two be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other left. Two women shall be grinding at the mill; the one shall be taken, and the other left. ¶ Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come. But know this, that if the goodman of the house had known in what watch the thief would come, he would have watched, and would not have suffered his house to be broken up. Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh.

(Revelation 1:7 [AKJV/PCE])
Behold, he cometh with clouds; and every eye shall see him, and they also which pierced him: and all kindreds of the earth shall wail because of him. Even so, Amen.

These two verses above are just two of many examples, since this is not the exhaustive study of the subject, just one on this chapter. If one cannot see the difference here and by careful, exhaustive study the between the secret Pre-Tribulation Rapture of the church and the Second Coming of the LORD Jesus Christ to save Israel from this world and her enemies, to judge the world, the arrival of Him being plain and evident to the entire earth, all at once, unhidden, overt, it is because they refuse to see it, not that they can't.

(1 Thessalonians 5:1 [AKJV/PCE])
But of the times and the seasons, brethren, ye have no need that I write unto you.

(1 Thessalonians 5:2 [AKJV/PCE])
For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night.

(1 Thessalonians 5:3 [AKJV/PCE])
For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape.

(1 Thessalonians 5:4 [AKJV/PCE])
But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief.

(1 Thessalonians 5:5 [AKJV/PCE])
Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness.

CHILDREN OF THE DAY, THE LIGHT

(Psalms 119:105 [AKJV/PCE])
NUN. Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.

(Proverbs 6:23 [AKJV/PCE])
For the commandment is a lamp; and the law is light; and reproofs of instruction are the way of life:

(John 8:12 [AKJV/PCE])
¶ Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.

(John 9:5 [AKJV/PCE])
As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world.

(John 14:26 [AKJV/PCE])
But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.

(1 Thessalonians 5:6 [AKJV/PCE])
Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober.

(Mark 13:35-37 [AKJV/PCE])
Watch ye therefore: for ye know not when the master of the house cometh, at even, or at midnight, or at the cockcrowing, or in the morning: Lest coming suddenly he find you sleeping. And what I say unto you I say unto all, Watch.

(1 Thessalonians 5:7 [AKJV/PCE])
For they that sleep sleep in the night; and they that be drunken are drunken in the night.

(Romans 13:11-13 [AKJV/PCE])
And that, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep: for now is our salvation nearer than when we believed. The night is far spent, the day is at hand: let us therefore cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armour of light. Let us walk honestly, as in the day; not in rioting and drunkenness, not in chambering and wantonness, not in strife and envying.

(Ephesians 5:14 [AKJV/PCE])
Wherefore he saith, Awake thou that sleepest, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall give thee light.

(Isaiah 9:2 [AKJV/PCE])
The people that walked in darkness have seen a great light: they that dwell in the land of the shadow of death, upon them hath the light shined.

(1 Thessalonians 5:8 [AKJV/PCE])
But let us, who are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love; and for an helmet, the hope of salvation.

(1 Thessalonians 5:9 [AKJV/PCE])
For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ,

APPOINT', v.t.
  1. To fix; to settle; to establish; to make fast.
When he appointed the foundations of the earth. Prov 8.
  2. To constitute, ordain, or fix by decree, order or decision.
Let Pharoah appoint officers over the land. Gen 41.
He hath appointed a day in which he will judge the world. Acts 17.
  3. To allot, assign or designate.
Aaron and his sons shall appoint every one to his service. Num 4.
These cities were appointed for all the children of Israel. Josh 20.
  4. To purpose or resolve; to fix the intention.
For so he had appointed. Acts 20.
  5. To ordain, command or order.
Thy servants are ready to do whatever my Lord the King shall appoint. 2 Sam 15.
  6. To settle; to fix, name or determine by agreement; as, they appointed a time and place for the meeting.
(1 Thessalonians 5:10 [AKJV/PCE])
Who died for us, that, whether we wake or sleep, we should live together with him.

(2 Corinthians 5:6-8 [AKJV/PCE])
Therefore we are always confident, knowing that, whilst we are at home in the body, we are absent from the Lord: (For we walk by faith, not by sight:) We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord.

(1 Thessalonians 5:11 [AKJV/PCE])
Wherefore comfort yourselves together, and edify one another, even as also ye do.

(1 Thessalonians 5:12 [AKJV/PCE])
And we beseech you, brethren, to know them which labour among you, and are over you in the Lord, and admonish you; And to esteem them very highly in love for their work's sake. And be at peace among yourselves.

(1 Thessalonians 5:14 [AKJV/PCE])
Now we exhort you, brethren, warn them that are unruly, comfort the feebleminded, support the weak, be patient toward all men.

FOLLOWING THE WRONG ONES, FOR THE WRONG REASON

(Matthew 15:14 [AKJV/PCE])
Let them alone: they be blind leaders of the blind. And if the blind lead the blind, both shall fall into the ditch.

(Luke 6:39 [AKJV/PCE])
And he spake a parable unto them, Can the blind lead the blind? shall they not both fall into the ditch?

(Acts 17:10 [AKJV/PCE])
¶ And the brethren immediately sent away Paul and Silas by night unto Berea: who coming thither went into the synagogue of the Jews. These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so.

(1 Thessalonians 5:15 [AKJV/PCE])
See that none render evil for evil unto any man; but ever follow that which is good, both among yourselves, and to all men.

(Psalms 118:6 [AKJV/PCE])
The LORD is on my side; I will not fear: what can man do unto me? The LORD taketh my part with them that help me: therefore shall I see my desire upon them that hate me. It is better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in man. It is better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in princes.

(Proverbs 24:29 [AKJV/PCE])
Say not, I will do so to him as he hath done to me: I will render to the man according to his work.

(Isaiah 63:4 [AKJV/PCE])
For the day of vengeance is in mine heart, and the year of my redeemed is come.

(Romans 12:19 [AKJV/PCE])
Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord.

(1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 [AKJV/PCE])
Rejoice evermore. Pray without ceasing. In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.

(1 Thessalonians 5:19 [AKJV/PCE])
Quench not the Spirit.

(1 Thessalonians 5:20 [AKJV/PCE])
Despise not prophesyings.

PROPH'ESYING, ppr. Foretelling events.
PROPH'ESYING, n. The act of foretelling or of preaching.

(1 Corinthians 13:8 [AKJV/PCE])
Charity never faileth: but whether there be prophecies, they shall fail; whether there be tongues, they shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish away.

(1 Thessalonians 5:21 [AKJV/PCE])
Prove all things; hold fast that which is good.

(1 Thessalonians 5:22 [AKJV/PCE])
Abstain from all appearance of evil.

(1 Thessalonians 5:23 [AKJV/PCE])
And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

(1 Thessalonians 5:24 [AKJV/PCE])
Faithful is he that calleth you, who also will do it.

OUR GOD IS FAITHFUL, TRUE, HOLY, AlWAYS

(1 Samuel 15:29 [AKJV/PCE])
And also the Strength of Israel will not lie nor repent: for he is not a man, that he should repent.

(Numbers 23:19 [AKJV/PCE])
God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?

(James 1:17 [AKJV/PCE])
Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.

(2 Timothy 2:13 [AKJV/PCE])
If we believe not, yet he abideth faithful: he cannot deny himself.

(Titus 1:2 [AKJV/PCE])
In hope of eternal life, which God, that cannot lie, promised before the world began;

(1 Thessalonians 5:25 [AKJV/PCE])
Brethren, pray for us.

(1 Thessalonians 5:26 [AKJV/PCE])
Greet all the brethren with an holy kiss.

(Genesis 2:18-20 [AKJV/PCE])
¶ And the LORD God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him. And out of the ground the LORD God formed every beast of the field, and every fowl of the air; and brought them unto Adam to see what he would call them: and whatsoever Adam called every living creature, that was the name thereof. And Adam gave names to all cattle, and to the fowl of the air, and to every beast of the field; but for Adam there was not found an help meet for him.

(1 Thessalonians 5:27 [AKJV/PCE])
I charge you by the Lord that this epistle be read unto all the holy brethren.

READING THE WORD OF GOD: FOR ALL

(Joshua 1:8 [AKJV/PCE])
This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.

(Exodus 24:7 [AKJV/PCE])
And he took the book of the covenant, and read in the audience of the people: and they said, All that the LORD hath said will we do, and be obedient.

(Deuteronomy 17:19 [AKJV/PCE])
And it shall be with him, and he shall read therein all the days of his life: that he may learn to fear the LORD his God, to keep all the words of this law and these statutes, to do them:

(Deuteronomy 31:11 [AKJV/PCE])
When all Israel is come to appear before the LORD thy God in the place which he shall choose, thou shalt read this law before all Israel in their hearing.

(Joshua 8:34 [AKJV/PCE])
And afterward he read all the words of the law, the blessings and cursings, according to all that is written in the book of the law.

(Joshua 8:35 [AKJV/PCE])
There was not a word of all that Moses commanded, which Joshua read not before all the congregation of Israel, with the women, and the little ones, and the strangers that were conversant among them.

(2 Kings 22:8 [AKJV/PCE])
¶ And Hilkiah the high priest said unto Shaphan the scribe, I have found the book of the law in the house of the LORD. And Hilkiah gave the book to Shaphan, and he read it.

(2 Kings 22:10 [AKJV/PCE])
And Shaphan the scribe shewed the king, saying, Hilkiah the priest hath delivered me a book. And Shaphan read it before the king.

(2 Kings 23:2 [AKJV/PCE])
And the king went up into the house of the LORD, and all the men of Judah and all the inhabitants of Jerusalem with him, and the priests, and the prophets, and all the people, both small and great: and he read in their ears all the words of the book of the covenant which was found in the house of the LORD.

(2 Chronicles 34:18 [AKJV/PCE])
Then Shaphan the scribe told the king, saying, Hilkiah the priest hath given me a book. And Shaphan read it before the king.

(2 Chronicles 34:24 [AKJV/PCE])
Thus saith the LORD, Behold, I will bring evil upon this place, and upon the inhabitants thereof, even all the curses that are written in the book which they have read before the king of Judah:

(2 Chronicles 34:30 [AKJV/PCE])
And the king went up into the house of the LORD, and all the men of Judah, and the inhabitants of Jerusalem, and the priests, and the Levites, and all the people, great and small: and he read in their ears all the words of the book of the covenant that was found in the house of the LORD.

(Nehemiah 8:3 [AKJV/PCE])
And he read therein before the street that was before the water gate from the morning until midday, before the men and the women, and those that could understand; and the ears of all the people were attentive unto the book of the law.

(Nehemiah 8:8 [AKJV/PCE])
So they read in the book in the law of God distinctly, and gave the sense, and caused them to understand the reading.

(Nehemiah 8:18 [AKJV/PCE])
Also day by day, from the first day unto the last day, he read in the book of the law of God. And they kept the feast seven days; and on the eighth day was a solemn assembly, according unto the manner.

(Nehemiah 9:3 [AKJV/PCE])
And they stood up in their place, and read in the book of the law of the LORD their God one fourth part of the day; and another fourth part they confessed, and worshipped the LORD their God.

(Nehemiah 13:1 [AKJV/PCE])
On that day they read in the book of Moses in the audience of the people; and therein was found written, that the Ammonite and the Moabite should not come into the congregation of God for ever;

(Jeremiah 36:10 [AKJV/PCE])
Then read Baruch in the book the words of Jeremiah in the house of the LORD, in the chamber of Gemariah the son of Shaphan the scribe, in the higher court, at the entry of the new gate of the LORD's house, in the ears of all the people.

(Jeremiah 36:13 [AKJV/PCE])
Then Michaiah declared unto them all the words that he had heard, when Baruch read the book in the ears of the people.

(Jeremiah 36:14-15 [AKJV/PCE])
Therefore all the princes sent Jehudi the son of Nethaniah, the son of Shelemiah, the son of Cushi, unto Baruch, saying, Take in thine hand the roll wherein thou hast read in the ears of the people, and come. So Baruch the son of Neriah took the roll in his hand, and came unto them.
And they said unto him, Sit down now, and read it in our ears. So Baruch read it in their ears.

(Jeremiah 36:21 [AKJV/PCE])
So the king sent Jehudi to fetch the roll: and he took it out of Elishama the scribe's chamber. And Jehudi read it in the ears of the king, and in the ears of all the princes which stood beside the king.

(Jeremiah 36:23 [AKJV/PCE])
And it came to pass, that when Jehudi had read three or four leaves, he cut it with the penknife, and cast it into the fire that was on the hearth, until all the roll was consumed in the fire that was on the hearth.

(Jeremiah 51:61 [AKJV/PCE])

But as touching the resurrection of the dead, have ye not read that which was spoken unto you by God, saying,

(Mark 2:25 [AKJV/PCE])
And he said unto them, Have ye never read what David did, when he had need, and was an hungred, he, and they that were with him?

(Mark 12:10 [AKJV/PCE])
And have ye not read this scripture; The stone which the builders rejected is become the head of the corner:

(Mark 12:26 [AKJV/PCE])
And as touching the dead, that they rise: have ye not read in the book of Moses, how in the bush God spake unto him, saying, I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob?
