This is three fold: You preach, they accept and believe and, for the rest of their life, they can stand in it
We can stand with others, stand back and wait and let God work, stand before God Himself, stand with God, stand against the enemy, stand before our enemies, etc.
Putting into writing that which was spoken before, so that they understand and believe it if they want to, and have it as a reference for any time later, for questions, witnessing, etc.

The "if ye keep in memory" is yet another example of a verse that is often taken from its context, misinterpreted to fit the "works salvation" lie by unbelievers
The implication is that you can be saved and then simply forget about the Gospel and following Jesus, and be UNsaved-you cannot. Either you are saved or you are not saved (heard the Gospel, forgot about it because you simply rejected it in the first place.
The part ignored is the context of the continuation, the rest of the verse, namely "unless ye have believed in vain", which negates and says they never even got saved at all, in the first place; but rather just made believe (feigned) to have believed, simply because you cannot believe in salvation from the LORD Jesus Christ in vain, since it is not vanity, vain to believe in salvation through Jesus Christ our LORD and Savior!
People go into a local body, raise their hand at an invitation, go forward to the stage, for all sorts of reasons-like, to impress a girl or guy, or they do not fully understand the simple gospel and are followers of others who come forward; or they are shamed, or they are guilted, or feel obligated, or are bullied into coming forward by threats, loud and unnecessary screaming being passed off as "preaching", and they do not get saved, or other reasons
Some get saved, some do not. This is the distinction in this verse

THE DEATH OF JESUS CHRIST

It is undeniable, this Resurrection
Prophesied fulfilled, witnessed by many, and got many people tortured and killed, for 2,000 years now, for which they would not recant anything they saw, experienced in their lives (an encounter with the Risen Christ), the most proven event in all of history
Paul is writing here to people who either are among those who saw Jesus post-Resurrection, or who knew someone in this group of over five hundred, so if he would be telling stories, they would be able to correct him. No one did, the enemies of the Cross merely tortured and killed all those who claimed to have seen the Risen Christ, and none of them recanted, but willingly sacrificed their lives for what they knew, witnessed, saw and then in Whom they believed

Paul here is trying to establish the doctrine of the resurrection of the dead, which some of the Corinthians flat out denied
Hymeneus and Philetus were two who denied and turned the resurrection into an allegory, myth, as people do today, leading some or many astray

Paul.....is grace personified, since Paul, of all, was the murderer among them, who happened to get saved
Paul was not with the apostles those years of Jesus's ministry, he was of the religious hierarchy
Paul persecuted those who were disciples
Paul became more the apostle to the Gentiles
Paul would have felt the impact of going from lost, bound for hell to saved, bound for heaven, with his then sudden pricked heart
Paul acknowledged he was chief among sinners
Visibly, to our eyes, guys like Paul need more grace than the rest of us self-righteous people who think we do not need God, because "we are soooooooooo good!"

None of us is any different than Paul, as it only takes one sin in an entire life, a conscious sin, to send one to an eternal hell, separated from God
We work by God's Grace, His Power in us, not on our own strength and Paul acknowledged this repeatedly
There is no vanity in the work of God at all; only in fighting it, being part of this world

The implied answer he is trying to get at is, "You just CAN'T now say there is no resurrection from the dead!"
The heretics in Rome trying to teach false doctrines, that Jesus was a god and not God

The death and burial of any person is expected, normal, automatic, since the fall, never to return in the flesh to earth to be seen

If Jesus did not Resurrect, then we have to deal with the Father after death, sins UNPAID
His Resurrection proves for 100% certainty that we will also be resurrected, if we are not raptured first-it us a solemn prommise from the Father of lights, an earnest
His death was made necessary by our sin, since the Fall of mankind in the Garden
His sinless life was made necessary to allow his death to pay for our sin(s) before God the Father
His burial was made necessary to prove He was indeed fully dead in front of the deniers
His resurrection was made necessary to be the firstfruits for us, as He was indeed sinless, and could not stay dead, according to God's plan

Fallen asleep=dead. Perished=dead, in the grave, rotting, never to rise, never to live again
Further, Paul here is stating that anyone who believes in Jesus Christ is most of all to be pitied, as they are never coming back to life, if there is no resurrection of the dead, no eternal life after this life
This means that this life is all there is for us. Notice that that is now how people are living today? No eternal hell, no eternal life, godless, no sense of right and wrong, not caring about anything, biding their time, waiting only to die, doing their own thing, doing it their way
This is what many of this world believe, as atheists, in atheistic religions, since atheism IS in fact a religion

If Christianity is false (it is not in any way), then this life is meaningless, useless, for every person, young or old, as they too who we may do something for will surely die one day, making our efforts meaningless, useless
Think of the death rate of 100%..now go back to 100-1,000 years ago. How many of those people are dead now? ALL. If that was it, no matter who married whom, who had children, who was famous, infamous, did good, served others, or did wicked-THEY ARE ALL DEAD, FOREVER, never to rise, IF there is no resurrection from the dead

Now then, since there IS a Resurrection from the dead
Jesus was the very first One to be bodily resurrected
This now means that all of us, as believers, will follow, as has been the case for some 2,000 years now
FIRSTFRUITS
The very first reward for hard labor growing crops
They were the best, and to be offered to the LORD
They were not to be burned in sacrifice to the LORD, just dried by the fire and beaten out, such as corn kernels from the ears of corn
This would also include an arm's bundle of wheat, grain, their actual fruits they grew, their dough, etc.
Israel in Jeremiah 2:3 was even called God's firstfruits
By the same token, in the same manner, those who get saved are the firstfruits and, in Scripture, those who get saved through us bringing them to Christ are our firstfruits

This is a voluntary subjection as was done to save us, becoming man, submitting to the Father as God the Son
When it is finally all said and done, the Godhead Three in One will be in charge again over the Creation, as before the Fall

We must die daily to self, to live for Christ, to let Christ live in us

Jesus submitted willfully to the Father to the point of a torturous death, and not for Himself, so we can certainly submit to the Holy Spirit of Christ

If there is no life after death, it does not matter how we die, by beasts (being thrown to the lions), car accident, disease, old age, young age
Dead is dead is dead is dead if this life is all there is
No reason to fight beasts if there is no life after this one, since the death rate is one per person
If there is no resurrection, then we should live like beasts, since we will die like beasts

This is a silly question, since we cannot know until it happens, and it comes from the Sadducces who rejected the Resurrection as impossible altogether

Mankind is a three part person:
Soul, given at birth, lives forever, heaven or hell, not discernible from science
Body of flesh, blood, bones, etc. until we die, for the soul to live in
Spirit, dead in us until we are born again
So first we get this fleshly body, the natural one we are born with
It cannot be raised, resurrected to life if it is spiritually dead, by rejecting Jesus Christ
The dead will not be resurrected, but taken from death and hell, judged an thrown into the lake of fire
Like being taken from a prison cell, to court, remanded forever to a fiery hell-no lawyers, no pleas, no arguments, just sentencing for the crimes listed
THE SPIRITUAL DEAD

Jesus, the Second Adam, redeemed earth, us, making our spirit alive (quickened) at the second birth
QUICKEN, v.t. quik'n.
Primarily, to make alive; to vivify; to revive or resuscitate, as from death or an inanimate state. Rom 4.
Hence flocks and herds, and men and beasts and fowls, with breath are quicken'd and attract their souls.
To make alive in a spiritual sense; to communicate a principle of grace to.You hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins. Eph 2.
To hasten; to accelerate; as, to quicken motion, speed or flight.
To sharpen; to give keener perception to; to stimulate; to incite; as, to quicken the appetite or taste; to quicken desires.
To revive; to cheer; to reinvigorate; to refresh by new supplies of comfort or grace. Psa 119.
QUICKEN, v.i. quik'n.
To become alive. The heart is the first part that quickens, and the last that dies.
To move with rapidity or activity. And keener lightning quickens in her eye.

Howbeit that was not first which is spiritual, but that which is natural; and afterward that which is spiritual.
It is the order of God's business with mankind. Life, to death, to our hope of eternal life in our new, glorified bodies, or life, to death, to eternal death, fire, darkness, separation from God, no hope in the natural body
It cannot be backwards. We are not born with an alive spirit, but a living soul only, with a body
We ARE souls; we do not HAVE souls

And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.

The first man is of the earth, earthy: the second man is the Lord from heaven.
Adam was dust, God-breathed into being a soul, life from God
Jesus is not made from dust. He IS the I AM, God, Creator, King of kings, LORD of lords
Jesus is the LORD, God, in the flesh, as the incarnation, the God-Man, fully God, fully man
Life from Jesus to the dead to quicken us who were dead in trespasses and sins

As is the earthy, such are they also that are earthy: and as is the heavenly, such are they also that are heavenly.
Fleshly speaking, naturally speaking, earthly speaking, we go from dust to dust
Spiritually speaking, we return to God as a spiritual being, not dead, but alive, through Jesus Christ Who went before us, however we go, raptured or dying

In the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread, till thou return unto the ground; for out of it wast thou taken: for dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return.

And as we have borne the image of the earthy, we shall also bear the image of the heavenly.
Adam had an earthy body, as do we
Jesus had a glorified, heavenly body as the Saviour, in heaven, as the God Who saved us; and then so will we have one, as saved people

Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption.
No person, as is, can get to heaven, as this body is corrupted by sin, and God is Holy
God (Father, Son, Spirit as One) is Holy, His Throne is Holy, Heaven is Holy, the angels are holy

Who can stand before his indignation? and who can abide in the fierceness of his anger? his fury is poured out like fire, and the rocks are thrown down by him.

Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.
Any dead believer's body, buried and rotting on earth, will be transformed into a glorified body, given a new body, a new name, a new home, reunited with the soul and spirit

For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.

So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory. O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory?
Our bodies will be eternal, not temporal, not subject to sin, destruction, sickness, disease

He will swallow up death in victory; and the Lord GOD will wipe away tears from off all faces; and the rebuke of his people shall he take away from off all the earth: for the LORD hath spoken it.

Thanks be to God is right, and not to ourselves
Salvation is here again proclaimed a gift, a victory of God, from God
The way? The ONLY way Our LORD Jesus Christ.....not ourselves

Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.
Knowing all of this, having the Gospel of verses three and four, we now know what the therefore is there for
Standing fast in the faith, feet cemented in Christ, firmly planted, a fruitful branch grafted in, a member of His Body
So now, therefore, we have work to do-discipling, preaching to the lost, serving others, as our calling
We will assuredly be rewarded for our efforts, it say here and many other places, as faithful stewards
