INTRODUCTION:

(Deuteronomy 4:2 [KJV])
Ye shall not add unto the word which I command you, neither shall ye diminish ought from it, that ye may keep the commandments of the LORD your God which I command you.

(Proverbs 30:5, 6 [KJV])
Every word of God is pure: he is a shield unto them that put their trust in him. Add thou not unto his words, lest he reprove thee, and thou be found a liar.

(Isaiah 28:10 [KJV])
For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little:

(Isaiah 28:13 [KJV])
But the word of the LORD was unto them precept upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little; that they might go, and fall backward, and be broken, and snared, and taken.

(2 Peter 1:20 [KJV])
Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation.

All of the studies, book or topical, found here, are done with research with mainly two things: The KING JAMES BIBLE and a plain old, 1828 Webster's Dictionary. Why? Outside of actually studying secular and Jewish history, archaeology, one needs nothing more. You do not need foreign, dead languages that no one speaks, lexicons, concordances or commentaries, because they differ not only with one another and with the KING JAMES BIBLE, but they create division, confusion, debate, and unbelief. We do not need them. That Word of God written and preserved for us in our own language is supposed to be enough, like the Old Testament was for the Jews, and the New Testament for the early Christians in Greek, Latin, Italian, Spanish, German, etc. There are studies within as tangents on words, subjects found within the two testaments, as to broaden the scope of the study, to learn more, deeper truths. This is not an intellectual site with PhDs, theologians, and no worldly wisdom.. Check everything out, everything. Not just here, but with everything you read and see and hear. Be Bereans:

(Acts 17:11 [KJV])
These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so.

Always research for yourself, use all of the context, and never privately interpret!

DIVINATION: ABOMINATION

DIVINATION: DIVINERS, DIVINING RODS, "DOWSING", "WATER WITCHING", IS IT OK?

(1 Timothy 6:20 [KJV])
O Timothy, keep that which is committed to thy trust, avoiding profane and vain babblings, and oppositions of science falsely so called:

Divination is false science, designed to deceive scientists, and it works to find things, because there is spiritual power behind it, not science. No voltage, no amps, no magnetism-just pure magical deception, annd effective deception at that.

(Deuteronomy 18:10-14 [KJV])
There shall not be found among you [any one] that maketh his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, [or] that useth divination, [or] an observer of times, or an enchanter, or a witch, Or a charmer, or a consulter with familiar spirits, or a wizard, or a necromancer.)
For all that do these things [are] an abomination unto the LORD: and because of these abominations the LORD thy God doth drive them out from before thee. Thou shalt be perfect with the LORD thy God. For these nations, which thou shalt possess, hearkened unto observers of times, and unto diviners: but as for thee, the LORD thy God hath not suffered thee so [to do].

(Ezekiel 13:6-9 [KJV])
They have seen vanity and lying divination, saying, The LORD saith: and the LORD hath not sent them: and they have made [others] to hope that they would confirm the word.
Have ye not seen a vain vision, and have ye not spoken a lying divination, whereas ye say, The LORD saith [it]; albeit I have not spoken? Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; Because ye have spoken vanity, and seen lies, therefore, behold, I [am] against you, saith the Lord GOD. And mine hand shall be upon the prophets that see vanity, and that divine lies: they shall not be in the assembly of my people, neither shall they be written in the writing of the house of Israel, neither shall they enter into the land of Israel; and ye shall know that I [am] the Lord GOD.

(Ezekiel 13:23 [KJV])
Therefore ye shall see no more vanity, nor divine divinations: for I will deliver my people out of your hand: and ye shall know that I [am] the LORD.

(Ezekiel 21:29 [KJV])
Whiles they see vanity unto thee, whiles they divine a lie unto thee, to bring thee upon the necks of [them that are] slain, of the wicked, whose day is come, when their iniquity [shall have] an end.

(Ezekiel 22:28 [KJV])
And her prophets have daubed them with untempered [morter], seeing vanity, and divining lies unto them, saying, Thus saith the Lord GOD, when the LORD hath not spoken.

(Zechariah 10:2 [KJV])
For the idols have spoken vanity, and the diviners have seen a lie, and have told false dreams; they comfort in vain: therefore they went their way as a flock, they were troubled, because [there was] no shepherd.

(2 Corinthians 11:14 [KJV])
And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.

(Deuteronomy 29:29 [KJV])
The secret [things belong] unto the LORD our God: but those [things which are] revealed [belong] unto us and to our children for ever, that [we] may do all the words of this law.

DIVINATION, n. [L., to foretell. See Divine.]
  1. The act of divining; a foretelling future events, or discovering things secret or obscure, by the aid of superior beings, or by other than human means. The ancient heathen philosophers divided divination into two kinds, natural and artificial. Natural divination was supposed to be effected by a kind of inspiration or divine afflatus; artificial divination was effected by certain rites, experiments or observations, as by sacrifices, cakes, flour, wine, observation of entrails, flight of birds, lots, verses, omens, position of the stars, etc.
  2. Conjectural presage; prediction.

DOCTRINE OF THE SCRIPTURES

  1. There is no place in Scripture where God actually calls believing, faithful followers of mankind to divine or use divination. God asks us to pray to Him only, always, in all things, for everything, including water
  2. It has been said that scientists have proven water witching, dowsing, divination all work, proven to them, as a group, before their eyes
  3. These are the same scientists who believe that the earth is 3.8-4.5 billion years old, that we have the same ancestors as sponges, corals, anemones, bugs, amoebas, that we came from a rock, dinosaurs died 65,000,000 years ago, the universe started with a big bang-from "a singularity", fossils take a long time to form, the Geologic Column recorded life's evolutionary history, the universe is self-existing and not created, etc.
  4. Scientists who believe in evolutionism are not actual scientists, but religious fanatics, "scientists". Don't believe me? Try correcting one with actual science and you will see.
  5. Anyone who believe that they cannot be deceived is already deceived. It is already too late for them.
  6. In other words, that they can be deceived, and are already, is no surprise
  7. God called and calls divination an ABOMINATION, not to be done
  8. Magic tricks work to deceive (sleight of hand)
  9. Regardless of whether it works, God said, yea, He COMMANDS US: DO NOT DO IT!
  10. Opening oneself up to deception by the spirit world is never, ever safe
  11. This happens with black magic, magic, witchcraft, drugs, chanting, seances, all pagan religions, soothsaying, satanism, shamanism, spirit animals, the occult, idolatry, astrology, Ouiji boards, tarot cards, the list goes on and on
  12. These "work"......so far as they are useful to deceive, and that really well. How do you think people get so into and hooked on these things?
  13. Every time Israel practiced such abominations, God judged them, without fail
  14. Every nation that was judged, destroyed practiced such abominations. God judged them, without fail. Any left are ripe for judgment today
  15. The entire planet is currently under the god of this world, most people are deceived, and soon all of them will be, under the anti-Christ
  16. Study God's Word....who exactly practiced divination in Scripture? Who was deceived by it? Anyone who was actually following the one true God? I trow not!
  17. These same pagan diviners made their children pass through the fire to sacrifice them-THEIR OWN CHILDREN!
  18. God judged destroyed these nations, including putting Israel His own chosen people, into captivity, judging them, for their divinations, and never once exalted them. You think He is with you on this, helping you divine?
  19. The enemy is subtil and unassuming, not open, straightforward, honest
  20. The secret things are for God, like where the water is, how He will provide it for you, and HE never even implied that we should "divine" water by asking the spirit realm, in fact HE told us to avoid calling on, talking to, having communications with in any way "familiar spirits"
  21. The amperes, voltage, wattage in the ground, in water, in a stick, are so non-existent, so utterly minuscule as to not even be able to produce and register even the slightest signal, let alone jump to a stick! If that were the case, one could hold one near and electrical box and have it be pulled in
  22. It is not a natural process, but a spiritual one. It is not electrical, chemical, physical, magnetic, or anything else. If your "divining rod" is magnetic, stick it to the fridge! If it is electrical, use it to connect a circuit! If it is chemical, stick it in an aquarium and see if the creatures react! Scientifically, it is nothing but a stick. The fact that "scientists" were deceived by it is completely irrelevant, meaningless, useless.
  23. Why not consult the dead? Call a fortune teller? Call on a familiar spirit? Ever wonder why it is called water WITCHING?
  24. If God allows water WITCHING?, why not witchcraft itself?
  25. Just because something might work does not mean God says to do it in His Word!

MOSES, THE ROD, THE ROCK, THE WATER (Exodus 17, Numbers 20)

(Exodus 17:1-7 [KJV])
And all the congregation of the children of Israel journeyed from the wilderness of Sin, after their journeys, according to the commandment of the LORD, and pitched in Rephidim: and [there was] no water for the people to drink. Wherefore the people did chide with Moses, and said, Give us water that we may drink. And Moses said unto them, Why chide ye with me? wherefore do ye tempt the LORD?
And the people thirsted there for water; and the people murmured against Moses, and said, Wherefore [is] this [that] thou hast brought us up out of Egypt, to kill us and our children and our cattle with thirst? And Moses cried unto the LORD, saying, What shall I do unto this people? they be almost ready to stone me. And the LORD said unto Moses, Go on before the people, and take with thee of the elders of Israel; and thy rod, wherewith thou smotest the river, take in thine hand, and go. Behold, I will stand before thee there upon the rock in Horeb; and thou shalt smite the rock, and there shall come water out of it, that the people may drink. And Moses did so in the sight of the elders of Israel. And he called the name of the place Massah, and Meribah, because of the chiding of the children of Israel, and because they tempted the LORD, saying, Is the LORD among us, or not?

(Numbers 20:1-13 [KJV])
Then came the children of Israel, [even] the whole congregation, into the desert of Zin in the first month: and the people abode in Kadesh; and Miriam died there, and was buried there. And there was no water for the congregation: and they gathered themselves together against Moses and against Aaron. And the people chode with Moses, and spake, saying, Would God that we had died when our brethren died before the LORD! And why have ye brought up the congregation of the LORD into this wilderness, that we and our cattle should die there?

And wherefore have ye made us to come up out of Egypt, to bring us in unto this evil place? it [is] no place of seed, or of figs, or of vines, or of pomegranates; neither [is] there any water to drink. And Moses and Aaron went from the presence of the assembly unto the door of the tabernacle of the congregation, and they fell upon their faces: and the glory of the LORD appeared unto them.
And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying, Take the rod, and gather thou the assembly together, thou, and Aaron thy brother, and speak ye unto the rock before their eyes; and it shall give forth his water, and thou shalt bring forth to them water out of the rock: so thou shalt give the congregation and their beasts drink. And Moses took the rod from before the LORD, as he commanded him. And Moses and Aaron gathered the congregation together before the rock, and he said unto them, Hear now, ye rebels; must we fetch you water out of this rock?
And Moses lifted up his hand, and with his rod he smote the rock twice: and the water came out abundantly, and the congregation drank, and their beasts [also]. And the LORD spake unto Moses and Aaron, Because ye believed me not, to sanctify me in the eyes of the children of Israel, therefore ye shall not bring this congregation into the land which I have given them. This [is] the water of Meribah; because the children of Israel strove with the LORD, and he was sanctified in them.

(1 Corinthians 10:4 [KJV])
And did all drink the same spiritual drink: for they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them: and that Rock was Christ.

Moses was told by God to strike the rock to that water flowed out from it. Not to use that stick to DIVINE where the water was! The second time he was told merely to SPEAK to the Rock. When he struck the rock the second time, a curse was placed upon him by God. That Rock was Jesus, out of Whom living water flows for us. We struck the Rock on that Cross by our sin, now we merely ask Him to save us, not get crucified again! Moses was never dowsing, water witching, using divination. God told him where the water was and told him how to get it out-BY OBEYING HIM!

(Hebrews 6:6 [AKJV/PCE])
If they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame.

ON TO THE DIVINATION ABOMINATION

(2 Timothy 4:3 [KJV])
For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;

(Deuteronomy 18:14 [KJV])
For these nations, which thou shalt possess, hearkened unto observers of times, and unto diviners: but as for thee, the LORD thy God hath not suffered thee so [to do].

(1 Samuel 6:2 [KJV])
And the Philistines called for the priests and the diviners, saying, What shall we do to the ark of the LORD? tell us wherewith we shall send it to his place.

(Isaiah 44:25 [KJV])
That frustrateth the tokens of the liars, and maketh diviners mad; that turneth wise [men] backward, and maketh their knowledge foolish;

(Jeremiah 27:9 [KJV])
Therefore hearken not ye to your prophets, nor to your diviners, nor to your dreamers, nor to your enchanters, nor to your sorcerers, which speak unto you, saying, Ye shall not serve the king of Babylon:

(Jeremiah 29:8 [KJV])
For thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Let not your prophets and your diviners, that [be] in the midst of you, deceive you, neither hearken to your dreams which ye cause to be dreamed.

In other words, even if the prophets in Israel try to deceive Israel with divinations, do not listen to them! They are false prophets!

(Micah 3:7 [KJV])
Then shall the seers be ashamed, and the diviners confounded: yea, they shall all cover their lips; for [there is] no answer of God.

(Zechariah 10:2 [KJV])

(Genesis 44:15 [KJV])
And Joseph said unto them, What deed [is] this that ye have done? wot ye not that such a man as I can certainly divine?

Joseph was not a diviner, practicing divination. Look at the context of what he was doing. He was trying to get them to go get his father Jacob and Benjamin was all. He was deceiving them. Today, we would say, "What? You think I do not know what you are trying to do here?"

(Deuteronomy 18:14 [KJV])
For these nations, which thou shalt possess, hearkened unto observers of times, and unto diviners: but as for thee, the LORD thy God hath not suffered thee so [to do].

(Isaiah 44:25 [KJV])
That frustrateth the tokens of the liars, and maketh diviners mad; that turneth wise [men] backward, and maketh their knowledge foolish;

(Jeremiah 27:9 [KJV])

For thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Let not your prophets and your diviners, that [be] in the midst of you, deceive you, neither hearken to your dreams which ye cause to be dreamed.

(Ezekiel 13:9 [KJV])
And mine hand shall be upon the prophets that see vanity, and that divine lies: they shall not be in the assembly of my people, neither shall they be written in the writing of the house of Israel, neither shall they enter into the land of Israel; and ye shall know that I [am] the Lord GOD.

(Ezekiel 13:23 [KJV])
Therefore ye shall see no more vanity, nor divine divinations: for I will deliver my people out of your hand: and ye shall know that I [am] the LORD.

(Ezekiel 21:29 [KJV])
