It is undeniable that Melchisedek is Jesus Christ, incarnate before His advent to earth, based upon the context of every mention or description of Who He is.

For this Melchisedec, king of Salem, priest of the most high God, who met Abraham returning from the slaughter of the kings, and blessed him; To whom also Abraham gave a tenth part of all; first being by interpretation King of righteousness, and after that also King of Salem, which is, King of peace; Without father, without mother, without descent, having neither beginning of days, nor end of life; but made like unto the Son of God; abideth a priest continually.
King of Peace, King of Righteousness, Mighty God, everlasting Father, Prince of Peace
No father, no mother, without descent, having neither beginning of days, nor end of life-this simply can be no man on or from earth, but only can to be God Himself
No tithing law yet, no anointing of man as King or High Priest, as was later given in the law
Son of God is a title of God, not of man. Son of Man is what we are to our dads

After reading these verses, in their context, not privately interpreting them, it has to be concluded that Jesus Christ as the Son of Man (not to mention Son Of God, Second Person of
the Trinity!), has all of the attributes of the Eternal God, the Creator, the Saviour of mankind
He was seen coming in the clouds of heaven in Daniel and Revelation, not to mention His own claim in the gospels
He has the power to forgive sins
He is the LORD of the Sabbath Day
He claims to plant into this world the good seed, which is the children of God
He will send His angels from Heaven at the end to ensnare the wicked, send them to a fiery hell
He was accused of all sorts of evil for violating the Sabbath, etc. numerous times by the religious leaders of the day and found sinless, innocent, His only "crime" claiming to be
God, which got Him crucified on a Roman Cross, after which He proved He was God Himself in the flesh by His Resurrection
He will come in God's Glory with the holy angels one day
He claimed He would be betrayed to His enemies, suffer death on a Roman cross, die and rise again after three days from the dead-AND DID
He promised to sit on the Throne, having the apostles judge the quick and the dead, and reign with Him
He claimed to ransom man in his sin from the enemy, purchase them with His Blood-AND HE DID
He claimed every eye shall see Him return to earth one day, with His angels and us
He claimed He would remove His people in the Rapture before all of the end times Great Tribulation
He said this was a secret, no one would know when, including Himself, unexpected by the world
He said He would be ashamed of anyone ashamed of Him and His words
He claimed before he high priest that He is "the Christ, the Son of the Blessed", blasphemy if not true, God if so (it is true)
He claimed to be the I AM (God)
He said we would be persecuted for His sake, as believers
He said that we believers will stand before Him one day, as will the unbelievers, as the Judge of all the earth
He said He came down from Heaven to earth
He said He was sent from God the Father
He is specifically described and called out in Revelation as the one there, about to open the book to start the Great Tribulation
He IS THE I AM, THE LORD, GOD, THE GREAT JUDGE OF ALL OF THE EARTH, THE SAVIOR OF ALL MANKIND, of that there can be no doubt

It must be remembered that there was no law yet, so this was out of a sense of obligation for what Melchisedec did for Abraham

It must be remembered that Melchisedec was not a descendant of Abraham in any way, but rather his Creator

Melchisedec was obviously very different than any other priests, by definition and description here and in the Genesis account
According to the Law later, this would not have been according to that law, but against it, illegal, but it was not-BECAUSE ABRAHAM GAVE HIM TITHES

Abraham got the blessing of the Saviour, because this was no ordinary priest at all, according to any earthly priesthood under any law
Giving God tithes is not a loss; tithing, giving to honest men is never a loss
Giving rich men who fleece flocks and make merchandise of us is a loss of our reward and theirs, perhaps theirs as unbelievers for all eternity
We have no excuses, as we have the Word of God and do not need to follow evil men under obligation, manipulation, slick sales techniques
Abraham did not have all of the whole counsel of God, but did this by faith, knowing Melchisedec was on his side, as God Himself, come to help, to visit, reveal Himself as a pre-incarnation
We need the Word of God to see Jesus, not visions, dreams, vocal utterances, signs and wonders-NONE of which Abraham had, either, as that was all later
The signs and wonders today are merely forerunners of the , soon arrival of the maker of the real lying signs and lying wonders (1 Thessalonians 2:9)

Levi was still as yet unborn for a long time, but counted as giving tithes to Melchisedec because Abraham did so, by faith
Our tithes to God are also spiritual, not just money, as the giving of ourselves out of a grateful heart
Levi was supposed to receive tithes, not give them, as in the flesh, so his giving of tithes to a greater High priest, Melchisedek, shows Jesus to be far superior to any earthly priest, any man, any mortal man, at any time

If therefore perfection were by the Levitical priesthood, (for under it the people received the law,) what further need was there that another priest should rise after the order of Melchisedec, and not be called after the order of Aaron?
That reason is because any priesthood, on earth, by fleshly men, cannot be perfect nor perfected by laying on of hands, the blood of goats and bulls, sacrificing unspotted lambs, not any sacrifice of any type by any earthly priest
So that need is not ever actually met, except by Jesus Christ Himself on that Cross, the perfect sacrifice
The purpose of it was to point them to the need for atonement, and to tell them atonement was available by faith alone in the coming Messiah, today faith in the Messiah Who already was here, died, was buried and rose from the dead

For the priesthood being changed, there is made of necessity a change also of the law.

Levi was the priesthood tribe in the Old Testament; but Jesus came from the tribe of Judah, this was His Plan-to reveal their need to wash away sin

And it is yet far more evident: for that after the similitude of Melchisedec there ariseth another priest, Who is made, not after the law of a carnal commandment, but after the power of an endless life.
This is a completely different type of priesthood, a different atonement, a pure, everlasting, eternal salvation, something the first priesthood could never offer by law, by works

It was never given to save; but rather to point to the need for salvation

It was never created to save anyone; but rather to separate Israel from her neighbors, as the only chosen nation God dealt with, the only chosen nation to go to, as a pagan, to learn about how to be God's people
They were chosen to represent God on earth as a nation, through their perfect law no one else had

For the law made nothing perfect, but the bringing in of a better hope did; by the which we draw nigh unto God.
That law was perfect; the problem then as now is that imperfect people cannot perfectly keep a perfect law, as their sin nature gets in the way

And inasmuch as not without an oath he was made priest: (For those priests were made without an oath; but this with an oath by him that said unto him, The Lord sware and will not repent, Thou art a priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec:)
The very last difference is this oath, never made to Israel
Since all were mortal men, they could not be priests in the flesh, since they all died
We can be alive forever through Jesus Christ, a priests
We do not need an oath by mankind, any ordination no altars, no temples, no animal sacrifices, no fancy garb, no implements, no courts for Jew or Gentile
Nor can we pass this down by generations, as our children are not saved and become priests because we are, unlike the Old Testament lines of descent
OUR PRIESTHOOD AS BELIEVERS IN THE HIGH PRIEST

Now therefore, if ye will obey my voice indeed, and keep my covenant, then ye shall be a peculiar treasure unto me above all people: for all the earth is mine: And ye shall be unto me a kingdom of priests, and an holy nation. These are the words which thou shalt speak unto the children of Israel.
They repeatedly, utterly failed, as will we if we try to obtain salvation by the law, as we have the law of faith, as did they

By so much was Jesus made a surety of a better testament.
We should rejoice that we need no part of any formal religious system to please God, gain His favor
We need Jesus, Who did and does and will do all of that for us, eternally paying for us

And they truly were many priests, because they were not suffered to continue by reason of death:
This was the rotation of the Old Testament priesthood-death, son as priest, death, son as priest, rinse and repeat

But this man, because he continueth ever, hath an unchangeable priesthood. Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them.
No works salvation for us, no favor to gain by ourselves, no work to do but believe by faith, nothing to add or subtract from that Gospel
If one is always and forever a priest who can pay for ever sin you did commit, making it unnecessary to even bring them up, then they can plead your sin every moment, every day until you die, at the mercy seat, forgive you, completely wipe out the crimes you commit that could be held against you
He died for our sins, was buried, and was Resurrected for our salvation, unlike any earthly priest whose body and bones are laid in the earth to rot, never to return to earth as a priest to go to the altar and offer for sins again, never to be heard from
One Man, Jesus Christ, was heard from and is still heard from to this day on earth as much or more than when He walked it in the flesh, over the entire world today in His Gospel
These things only THE High Priest Melchisedek, THE LORD Jesus Christ, could do for us, like no earthly priest, High or low

There is only ONE Who qualifies for this position, the LORD Jesus Christ
Only One God, True God, the God Man, Who stepped out of Heaven to become us, to save us, which no eartly priest could do nor ever did do, nor will do

Who needeth not daily, as those high priests, to offer up sacrifice, first for his own sins, and then for the people's: for this he did once, when he offered up himself.
The only High Priest Who never had to die for his own sins is the LORD Jesus Christ, no exceptions
He did this work one time, never to be repeated, by anyone, nor added to, subtracted from, with our works, our sacrifices of anything in any place on any altar

For the law maketh men high priests which have infirmity; but the word of the oath, which was since the law, maketh the Son, who is consecrated for evermore.
Law versus the oath of God
The Law was given for our good in every way as we passed through
The Law was given to point people to their need for the Saviour, the Messiah, the Christ, to come, not to save
The Law was given ISrael to show the nations they had a Holy God, as no fleshly, carnal, pagan nation would have ever written such a law
Even just the Ten Commandments alone has shown the World the Majesty, Holiness of God, being perfect-except no one on earth can follow them, nor ever has, but Jesus Christ alone
