All of the studies, book or topical, found here, are done with research with mainly two things: The KING JAMES BIBLE and a plain old, 1828 Webster's Dictionary. Why? Outside of actually studying secular and Jewish history, archaeology, one needs nothing more. You do not need foreign, dead languages that no one speaks, lexicons, concordances or commentaries, because they differ not only with one another and with the KING JAMES BIBLE, but they create division, confusion, debate, and unbelief. We do not need them. That Word of God written and preserved for us in our own language is supposed to be enough, like the Old Testament was for the Jews, and the New Testament for the early Christians in Greek, Latin, Italian, Spanish, German, etc. There are studies within as tangents on words, subjects found within the two testaments, as to broaden the scope of the study, to learn more, deeper truths. This is not an intellectual site with PhDs, theologians, and no worldly wisdom.. Check everything out, everything. Not just here, but with everything you read and see and hear. Be Bereans:

HEBREWS CHAPTER 6: THE NEW, MATURE MAN: WHAT WE WILL DO NOW

Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
One thing for certain, the verses in the introduction are there for this chapter and the whole of Scripture, because a context is needed always to determine truth and avoid error (heresy). Failing that, people abuse, wrest these verses and privately interpret them as stand alones, with others, to make the false claim that one can get saved and lose their salvation. THis is easy to do for any novice, of any age, who does not actual study in faith, but has an a priori argument from their denomination, reading Christian and "Christian" books by heretics, or they get their doctrines from famous people on radio or tell-a-vision. What they fail to do is use the context which gives the proper teaching of the verses. At first, it can be innocent. Later, it is ingrained, intentional and stems from arrogance and intellectual pride, having an unteachable spirit, often because, Well, I have this degree from this seminary, so who are YOU to correct ME?" Utter wickedness, evil. I always say, "If you want to teach, you must have both the Holy Spirit and a teachable spirit". Also, we must be open to correction, but only from the Word of God, not from the words of men (sadly, even women in America), famous or not. No, these verses, in their context of this chapter, this book, and the rest of Scripture, can not teach one can lose their salvation, because God IS. Jesus is THE I AM, from Whose Hand no one can pluck themselves, nor His Father's Hand. The Word of God teaches cover to cover, from Adam to Noah to Israel to the Gentiles to you and to me, grace through faith, else no one could be saved, nor ever would be!

To swim and find out what is in the bottom of the lake, pond or sea, one does not just go to the shore and dip their toes in
To drive and explore the country coast to coast on a motorcycle, you do not learn to ride, get everything ready, and then watch a documentary on others who rode across the country on motorcycles, while yours is parked in the garage

This are first principles, basics, elementals, which we first discover upon hearing the Gospel and getting saved
There is way much more to that walk with Jesus Christ than we get saved and then just stop, be content, wait to go to heaven, silently
The author is not saying to forsake the elemental doctrines of Christ, to forget them, forsake them-NO, but rather careful study, sound teaching/doctrine and spiritual growth and maturity, discipleship, church planting, that we need to them add to that start, that foundation, through partaking in the meat of the word
Because you built the foundation of the house and then finished building the rest of the house, you no longer have to build the foundation. You must live in the house
The foundations laid here by the apostles to the unbelievers, as they were taught by Jesus:
Repentance from dead works, which today is still practiced too much in America, with "We can work to get saved and must work to stay saved!"
Faith in God
Baptism of the Holy Ghost at the moment of salvation, baptism in water after salvation
Commissioning of proper leaders to ministry
Knowing what prophecies are going to be fulfilled, knowing how it all ends, as they had Daniel, the other Old Testament prophets, and Genesis to Malachi to study from
Knowing their future is secure in Christ, with Christ, in heaven; knowing the future of the unbeliever is also secure in eternity, without Christ, in hell
(Hebrews 6:4 [KJV])
For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost, And have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come, If they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame.
This is a verse often taken out of context to show that "one can lose their salvation"
Do you know why you cannot renew them to repentance? They are proud, arrogant know-it-alls (know nothing ignoramuses) with unteachable spirits
Notice it says repentance and not salvation?

If they were saved, then they were once enlightened by the Word of God
If they were saved, then they once tasted of the heavenly gift. They did not eat at the table, just walked by and dipped their finger in and proceeded on
If they were saved, then they were once readers of maybe the Gospel of John chapter three, then read not much more, get their doctrines from other men (or women), not from God
If they were saved, then they understand God's miracles, perhaps attended a Pentecostal Church, where they confuse and abuse sign
gifts, no longer valid, since they were superseded, because we now we have the full Word of God
If they are unsaved, they are like Judas, who spent three whole yearswith Jesus as the otehr apostles, yet was not, and betrayed Him, for money
The difference is the believing in Jesus. Same exposure to truth, seeing all things others saw, never getting saved, faking it and feigning, until death

Washing of the
This is similar to the parable of the sower and the seed in Matthew 13:1-30
Weeds, thorns, good seed, herbs, fruits, good crops all get the same rain, into or fertile, soft, loamy soil, tended like a garden-good soil
Depends on the earth they are in, or a wilderness of hard rocks, untilled-a wasteland
That is the heart of the issue, the heart is the issue, the heart issue
The Word of God rains down on us, washes us, lets us grow, if we come by faith to it, looking for wisdom, godly knowledge
This is just as it rains down for the unbelieving heart; only they reject it with a rocky heart, and will wash one-WASH THEM AWAY IN A FLOOD (Genesis 6:1, Genesis 7:1)
Same water, same clouds, same rain, different hearts

God lets them grow together and reals the good crop from among the thorns, briers, bristles, thistles
This whole section is about unbelievers, not those who are saved, "good, nice people" who are lost

"That was them, this is you. Works for God, not works of the flesh, which are works of evil. This is what I am trying to say to you"
Works that accompany salvation is preaching, teaching, discipling, helping orphans, widows, one another, prayers for the saints and the lost, fellowship

We should not necessarily expect any rewards in this life, for this work in this life; we may get evil in return
Standing for truth and loving our enemies is not always easy, nor was it then, nor is it now, nor will it ever be

And we desire that every one of you do shew the same diligence to the full assurance of hope unto the end:
The author's desire, as ours should be, is that, since we know we are saved, we need to work accordingly, until our last breath
Assurance of hope means we can know that we are saved, not think so, not "I think so for today, but maybe not tomorrow"

Abraham was told by faith to get up and leave his family (Genesis 12:1) to a land he did not himself enter, but God showed it to him, and that is Israel's land to this day, though
currently only a tiny remnant of it, the size of New Jersey
God told him that he would be the father of an innumerable people, that his name would be great
Years later, he still did not inherit the promised land
Years later, he was promised a son from his own bowels, through Sarah, who both of them were way past childbearing age (Genesis 17:19)
One year later, he received the promise of Isaac, at a hundred years old, Sarah being ninety or ninety one (Genesis 21:2)
Years later, he still did not inherit the promised land
He still was not an innumerable people as a nation, but believed the promise of God
All of this was wrapped into one promise of people and land, a true huge miracle to this day
Because there is no greater Promiser than God Himself, by far.
Abraham was a man of faith, as we should be, having the promise of heaven, knowing 3we are heirs, to be given them upon leaving earth

This was made by One Person, God, Who upholds, upheld and will always uphold oaths He swears.
One can change their mind instantly for many excuses, either party, and the oath is broken

That by two immutable things, in which it was impossible for God to lie, we might have a strong consolation, who have fled for refuge to lay hold upon the hope set before us:
Abraham was called, given the gift of blessings of a great nation, an oath of a promise of land
Therefore, not being God, not knowing all things, whenever possible, for all of the right reasons, when we know all of the facts about any situation, we should never break an oath of any type, unless we made one that is evil, like some agreeing to be some sort of hit man or agreement to defraud. We must break those!
IMMU'TABLE, a. [L.immutabilis; in and mutabilis.] invariable; unalterable; not capable or susceptible of change. That by two immutable things, in which it was impossible for God to lie, we might have strong consolation. Heb 6.

Anchors ensure boats do not drift with the waves and wind, making us secure
That hope gets us behind that veil when we enter heaven, something the Old Testament saints could not do, only the High Priest, once a year, with bells on him perhaps in case he sinned, died, they would hear him fall and have to somehow drag him out

Suffice it to say that we do not need that now, as Jesus is our High Priest Who sprinkled the Mercy Seat (the earthly one being a shadow of that in hraven) with His OWN Blood, once for all (1 Peter 3:18)
