Revelation Chapter 16

READ Isaiah 13-14, Jeremiah 50-51 for context

(Revelation 16:1 )
And I heard a great voice out of the temple saying to the seven angels, Go your ways, and pour out the vials of the wrath of God upon the earth.

  • The only voice left in the Temple is God's Voice
(Revelation 15:8 )
And the temple was filled with smoke from the glory of God, and from his power; and no man was able to enter into the temple, till the seven plagues of the seven angels were fulfilled.

(Revelation 16:2 )
And the first went, and poured out his vial upon the earth; and there fell a noisome and grievous sore upon the men which had the mark of the beast, and upon them which worshipped his image.

  • Like in Egypt, God protects His own with having no sores, because they rejected the beast, the anti-Christ
(Exodus 9:9 )
And it shall become small dust in all the land of Egypt, and shall be a boil breaking forth with blains upon man, and upon beast, throughout all the land of Egypt.

(Revelation 16:3-4 )
And the second angel poured out his vial upon the sea; and it became as the blood of a dead man: and every living soul died in the sea.
And the third angel poured out his vial upon the rivers and fountains of waters; and they became blood.

  • Previously a third of the seas died; now the rest dies
(Revelation 8:8-9 )
And the second angel sounded, and as it were a great mountain burning with fire was cast into the sea: and the third part of the sea became blood; And the third part of the creatures which were in the sea, and had life, died; and the third part of the ships were destroyed.

(Exodus 7:17 )
Thus saith the LORD, In this thou shalt know that I am the LORD: behold, I will smite with the rod that is in mine hand upon the waters which are in the river, and they shall be turned to blood.

(Revelation 16:5 )
And I heard the angel of the waters say, Thou art righteous, O Lord, which art, and wast, and shalt be, because thou hast judged thus.

  • God created earth, man polluted it with sin, God has to clean it up and it is His to do so
  • God has better plans for a new Heaven and a new earth
(Revelation 16:6-7 )
For they have shed the blood of saints and prophets, and thou hast given them blood to drink; for they are worthy. And I heard another out of the altar say, Even so, Lord God Almighty, true and righteous are thy judgments.

  • Man rejected the spiritual Living Water which is Christ, and took for granted the source of physical water, necessary for life
  • They accepted the false "living water" (anti-Christ), now they can accept the false water, which is the blood that their blood lust always sought
  • God is just, no matter what punishment man gets at His Hand. His grace has awaited thousands of years, and now it has been finally rejected by pretty much all left on earth, but the tiny remnant.

(Revelation 16:8-9 )And the fourth angel poured out his vial upon the sun; and power was given unto him to scorch men with fire. And men were scorched with great heat, and blasphemed the name of God, which hath power over these plagues: and they repented not to give him glory.
  • Sores, a bloody ocean, bloody rivers, a complete lack of waters, now scorching, searing heat with nothing to slake the thirst, and God is still rejected nonetheless
  • Man loves his sin more. That much more than he loves God, despite the judgments
  • This proves the very reason at the Flood that it repented God that He had made man
  • This is now also why the Flood must be believed as literal, because the future judgment here is literal (2 Peter 3:3-10)
  • Judgment does not produce repentance, God's Grace and God's Love do. This is why often fire and brimstone preaching does not work.
(John 3:19-20 )
And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved.

(Genesis 6:6-7 )
And it repented the LORD that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him at his heart. And the LORD said, I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth; both man, and beast, and the creeping thing, and the fowls of the air; for it repenteth me that I have made them.

(2 Peter 3:3-10 )
Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts, And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation.
For this they willingly are ignorant of, that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of the water and in the water:])
Whereby the world that then was, being overflowed with water, perished:
But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men. But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day. The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.

(Revelation 16:10-11 )
And the fifth angel poured out his vial upon the seat of the beast; and his kingdom was full of darkness; and they gnawed their tongues for pain, And blasphemed the God of heaven because of their pains and their sores, and repented not of their deeds.

  • The plague of sores is not removed, but added to with each successive plague, unlike as with Pharaoh
(Exodus 10:21 )
And the LORD said unto Moses, Stretch out thine hand toward heaven, that there may be darkness over the land of Egypt, even darkness which may be felt.

(Revelation 16:12 )
And the sixth angel poured out his vial upon the great river Euphrates; and the water thereof was dried up, that the way of the kings of the east might be prepared.

  • The East of Jerusalem top and bottom is:
  • Iran
  • Iraq
  • Saudi Arabia
  • Yemen
  • Pakistan
  • Afghanistan
  • Russia and her former (now Muslim) states
  • China
  • India
  • Jordan
  • Kuwait
  • Bahrain
  • Qatar
  • Oman
  • U.A.E.

(Genesis 10:17 )
And the Hivite, and the Arkite, and the Sinite,

(1 Chronicles 1:15 )
And the Hivite, and the Arkite, and the Sinite,

(Isaiah 49:12 )
Behold, these shall come from far: and, lo, these from the north and from the west; and these from the land of Sinim.

SINIM in HEBREW=CHINA today, was also called land of Sinim ("thorns")
Also once called Chi'in, a feudal set of states (897-221 B.C.), unified 3rd century B.C. and built the Great Wall

The Chin Dynasty is where the name China came from. After Babel, the Sinites settled east in the region of China

(Revelation 16:13 )
And I saw three unclean spirits like frogs come out of the mouth of the dragon, and out of the mouth of the beast, and out of the mouth of the false prophet.

  • Another unholy Trinity, this time of frogs
(Exodus 8:2-7 )
And if thou refuse to let them go, behold, I will smite all thy borders with frogs: And the river shall bring forth frogs abundantly, which shall go up and come into thine house, and into thy bedchamber, and upon thy bed, and into the house of thy servants, and upon thy people, and into thine ovens, and into thy kneadingtroughs:
And the frogs shall come up both on thee, and upon thy people, and upon all thy servants. And the LORD spake unto Moses, Say unto Aaron, Stretch forth thine hand with thy rod over the streams, over the rivers, and over the ponds, and cause frogs to come up upon the land of Egypt.
And Aaron stretched out his hand over the waters of Egypt; and the frogs came up, and covered the land of Egypt. And the magicians did so with their enchantments, and brought up frogs upon the land of Egypt.

(Revelation 16:14 )
For they are the spirits of devils, working miracles, which go forth unto the kings of the earth and of the whole world, to gather them to the battle of that great day of God Almighty.
  • At this point it is very easy to gather the anti-Semitic peoples together to fight against God and His people, Israel
    • There are less of them
    • There is no conscience
    • They are all like-minded, and one in mind
    • They represent God and are therefore hated
    • They are the most deceived anyone can be at this time ever in history
(Revelation 16:15 )
Behold, I come as a thief. Blessed is he that watcheth, and keepeth his garments, lest he walk naked, and they see his shame.

  • These left are so utterly deceived that they actually think that Jesus WILL NEVER, EVER come to earth now!
  • On top of this, it is not something they want, either
  • There is still a small remnant of believers left on earth, wearing the righteousness of Christ before God, with white garments, watching, waiting for His return
(1 Thessalonians 5:4 )
But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief.

(Revelation 16:16 )
And he gathered them together into a place called in the Hebrew tongue Armageddon.

  • This valley is the last true man's battle, with the intent of destroying the Jewish people once and for all
  • Nebuchadnezzar, Assyrians, Napolean Bonaparte, Gentiles, Catholic Crusaders, Saracen Crusaders (Muslims originally from Arabia), Turks, Egyptians, Persians, Druzes, Arabs, etc. all have visited this fertile valley
(Revelation 16:17 )
And the seventh angel poured out his vial into the air; and there came a great voice out of the temple of heaven, from the throne, saying, It is done.

  • This is the last vial, and the first to be poured into the air
  • Vial 1. Upon earth
    Vial 2. Upon the sea
Vial 3. Upon the fresh water rivers and fountains
    Vial 4. Upon the sun
Vial 5. Upon the seat of the beast (his kingdom)
    Vial 6. Upon the Euphrates
    Vial 7. Into the air
  • Perhaps everything else has been dealt with on earth and around it.
(Revelation 16:18 )
And there were voices, and thunders, and lightnings; and there was a great earthquake, such as was not since men were upon the earth, so mighty an earthquake, and so great.
  • The repetition means it was the whole earth shaken...........again.
(Revelation 16:19 )
And the great city was divided into three parts, and the cities of the nations fell: and great Babylon came in remembrance before God, to give unto her the cup of the wine of the fierceness of his wrath.

  • This great city is Jerusalem, but the damage is unconfined to that city
(Revelation 16:20 )
And every island fled away, and the mountains were not found.
  • The pillars of all of the mountains are now broken
(Isaiah 40:4 )
Every valley shall be exalted, and every mountain and hill shall be made low: and the crooked shall be made straight, and the rough places plain:

(Revelation 16:21 )
And there fell upon men a great hail out of heaven, every stone about the weight of a talent: and men blasphemed God because of the plague of the hail; for the plague thereof was exceeding great.

  • Blasphemy carried the penalty of stoning in the Old Testament
  • A Greek talent is 56 lbs., the Jewish talent is about 114 lbs.
  • Joshua records, God doing the same
  • The Romans used catapults to hurl great stones in their great sieges (Josepheus)
  • This is the very end of the Great Tribulation
  • "The Great City" is Jerusalem
  • Babylon is mentioned specifically again, by name (Revelation 14:8)
  • Mystery Babylon is the religious side, Babylon is the commercial Babylon
BLASPHE'ME, v.t. [Gr. The first syllable is the same as in blame, blasme, denoting injury; L. loedo, loesus; The last syllable is the Gr.,to speak.]
1. To speak of the Supreme Being in terms of impious irreverence; to revile or speak reproachfully of God, or the Holy Spirit. 1 Ki 21. Mark 3.
2. To speak evil of; to utter abuse or calumny against; to speak reproachfully of.

BLASPHE'ME, v.i. To utter blasphemy.
He that shall blaspheme against the Holy Spirit shall not be forgiven. Mark 3.
1. To arrogate the prerogatives of God.
This man blasphemeth. Who can forgive sins but God? Math.9. Mark 2.

(Joshua 10:11 )
And it came to pass, as they fled from before Israel, and were in the going down to Bethhoron, that the LORD cast down great stones from heaven upon them unto Azekah, and they died: they were more which died with hailstones than they whom the children of Israel slew with the sword.

(Leviticus 24:15-16 )
And thou shalt speak unto the children of Israel, saying, Whosoever curseth his God shall bear his sin. And he that blasphemeth the name of the LORD, he shall surely be put to death, and all the congregation shall certainly stone him: as well the stranger, as he that is born in the land, when he blasphemeth the name of the LORD, shall be put to death.

(John 10:25-33 )
Jesus answered them, I told you, and ye believed not: the works that I do in my Father's name, they bear witness of me. But ye believe not, because ye are not of my sheep, as I said unto you. My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me: And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.
My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand. I and my Father are one.
Then the Jews took up stones again to stone him. Jesus answered them, Many good works have I shewed you from my Father; for which of those works do ye stone me?
The Jews answered him, saying, For a good work we stone thee not; but for blasphemy; and because that thou, being a man, makest thyself God.
