About Christ's Disciples

Christ's Disciples exists for the purpose of making sure that the Gospel is preached to the lost, and God's Word, in its context, is taught to the believer afterwards to disciple, encourage, strengthen, protect. The studies are mostly through the Scriptures, chapter by chapter, but there are also topical studies on here.

If these studies have been an encouragement to you or, if you have any questions or suggestions, please feel free to let us know on the contact page

Statement of Faith

(Acts 17:10-11)
And the brethren immediately sent away Paul and Silas by night unto Berea: who coming thither went into the synagogue of the Jews. These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so.

SUMMARY

I believe the Scriptures, is the inerrant the Holy Word of a Holy God, as preserved in the Authorized Version in English, others in other languages.
  1. I believe that God is eternal, and revealed as three persons, God the Father, God the Son, and God the Spirit - all co-equal in existence. God is omnipotent (all powerful), omnipresent (in all places), and omniscient (all knowing), holy in every way, perfectly just, infinite in glory, perfect and infinite in love, all seeing, all hearing
  2. I believe that God created the universe, the earth, the moon, the sun and the stars etc. and all life in six, literal twenty four hour days, the Creation Week, a week just like ours today, the template for all people worldwide for their own week
  3. I believe that God created mankind in His own image of a triune being and that we are made up of body, soul and spirit
  4. I believe that the LORD Jesus Christ was born of a virgin
  5. I believe that the death, burial and resurrection of the LORD Jesus Christ from the dead paid the entire penalty for our sin, our separation from God in a fiery hell, giving us eternal life in Heaven
  6. I believe that faith and the belief that the death, burial and resurrection of the LORD Jesus Christ is the only way to salvation

STATEMENT OF FAITH: LONG FORM

The points made in the enlarged statement of faith below are numerous, exhaustive and from careful study of Scripture for over three decades. None are held to lightly, all can be examined carefully for Scriptural faithfulness.
  • I believe the Scriptures, the Holy Word of a Holy God, was inerrant in the originals , most if not all of which have since been lost for millennia.
  • I believe the Scriptures, the Holy Word of a Holy God, was nearly always in a book or books (mostly books, Genesis to Revelation), not in manuscripts, scrolls or parchments, and that God always dealt with copies of copies, never "the originals", which were worn out from use.
  • I believe in the literal interpretation of Scripture and that, through using only the immediate context, the context of the book, and that the context of all of Scripture, as well as the cultural and historical context of the people living then, anyone can rightly discern the meaning of any passages or words. A good Webster's dictionary is all that is needed, not "the Greek" or "the Hebrew".
  • (2 Timothy 2:15)
Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

  • I believe that God has fulfilled His promise to preserve His Word perfectly in English in the Authorized Version, 1611-present, as well as in other languages, and I further contend that this version is our final and absolute authority on all matters of faith and practice, in English, above and beyond all other authorities on earth.
  • I believe that God is eternal, and revealed as three persons, God the Father, God the Son, and God the Spirit, throughout Scripture, all co-equal, all co-eternal, all powerful, holy in every way, perfectly just, perfect and infinite in His glory and in His undying love, that He is all seeing, all hearing, all knowing, all present always in every place
  • I believe that God created mankind, specifically the first man, Adam from the dust of the earth for His own Glory, as well as the first woman Eve from the rib of Adam, to worship God with their whole heart, soul, flesh, mind and that that purpose has never once changed.
  • I believe that mankind is in a fallen state, sold unto sin, separated from God by that sin and sin nature, because of the Fall in Genesis chapter three of Adam and Eve, Adam following his wife and breaking the commandment not to eat from the tree of life, Eve being deceived by the the enemy of mankind, Satan, head of the fallen angels, appearing in the form of a serpent, and that this caused the subsequent curse of death, pain and suffering for all of Creation
  • I believe in eternal life and eternal death. Eternal life is for those who believe in Jesus Christ and His death on the Cross for them and their sin, and eternal death in a fiery hell for those who reject Jesus Christ
  • I believe that God prepared a place in heaven for all who would believe on His Son the LORD Jesus Christ for salvation
  • I believe that God prepared a place in hell for the devil and His fallen angels, which was enlarged to include all those who have since rejected God's free offer of salvation
  • I believe that mankind, in his sinful state, could not save himself from hell, so God had to step in and do it
  • I believe that all people are born with a sin nature, and sin willingly as soon as they are old enough to understand right from wrong, and that they choose to do wrong, knowingly, willingly, and that they understand that there is a God to whom we are accountable
  • I believe that Jesus Christ stepped out of Heaven's Throne to become 100% man while remaining 100% God, as the Incarnate God, was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary.
  • I believe that Jesus Christ is the Jewish Messiah, who came first for His people, Israel, was rejected by His people and crucified for claiming to be the Son of God, a title of Deity, that he was then was raised from the dead three days later by the power of God, in that same body, which is now glorified. I believe that, after spending time with His disciples and around 400 others, as eyewitnesses, He ascended into Heaven where He sits now at the right hand of God, continually making intercession on our behalf.
  • I believe that, during His ministry on earth, Jesus lived a holy, perfect and sinless life, performed many miracles, and died on the cross as a sacrifice for our sins according to the Scriptures.
  • I believe that the death, burial and resurrection of the LORD Jesus Christ from the dead paid the entire penalty for our sin nature and our sins, and for our separation from God in a fiery hell, giving us eternal life in Heaven.
  • I believe that the Holy Spirit of God is co-equal with God the Father and God the Son; that He regenerates the believing sinner; indwells them, guides them, instructs them and empowers that believer for Godly living and service to God; and comforts the children of God as well. The Holy Spirit guides and gives power to the church, the body of Christ, to fulfill the Great Commission, and convicts the world of sin, righteousness, and judgment.
  • I believe that, when one believes in Jesus Christ and His sacrifice on the Cross for their sin, they are regenerated ("born again"), their spirit is now alive unto God, that God imputes the righteousness of Christ, (perfect in every way) to them, that the Holy Spirit indwells them for the rest of their life, and that they receive the free gift of eternal life, salvation.
  • I believe that there are no works required for salvation, only the faith that saves, faith in Jesus Christ the LORD of lords and King of kings.
  • I believe that a new believer should be baptized as soon as is possible, by immersion in water and that this person, through this action, identifies with the LORD Jesus Christ in His death, burial and resurrection.
  • I believe that we, as Christians, should regularly examine ourselves before God and have communion, the cup and the bread, to remember the sacrifice of the LORD Jesus Christ on the Cross for us.
  • I believe in the imminent return of the LORD Jesus Christ in what is known as "the Rapture", in which, suddenly, the body of Christ, the Church, His Bride, will be instantly removed from earth, as Enoch and Elijah were, after which the Great Tribulation will begin, with the enemy Satan controlling the world for seven years in the form of the anti-Christ a devil-man, with a false prophet leading people astray to the anti-Christ.
  • I believe that, after the Rapture, God's focus will return to Israel, as in the Old Testament, and will save Israel from the anti-Christ
  • I believe that, after that time, Jesus Christ will return to earth to reign for a millennia, a thousand years, and will bring us back with him in our glorified bodies.
  • I believe in two resurrections, resurrection of the believers to eternal glory in glorified bodies, and the resurrection of the the dead (unbelievers) who will be sent to eternal torment in hell, as eternal punishment.
  • I believe that the church is a living being, composed of all born-again believers, indwelt with the Holt Spirit, and not a building or an organization of any type, and that we are to be the church, the body of Christ, not go to church.
  • I believe that the purpose of the church is to witness to the world about the LORD Jesus Christ according to the Scriptures, and to preach the Gospel among all nations.
  • I further believe that the purpose of the church is to encourage one another, disciple those who need it, support those who need it, come together to break bread, pray and study the Word of God together.
  • I believe that there was a worldwide Flood in the days of Noah, which wiped out all people for their wickedness, except for Noah, his wife, his three sons and their wives, a total of eight people, which then laid down the geologic column, all hydraulically deposited layers of the earth, and the fossils in it, supernaturally.
